What does the schema markup generator do?
Schema markup (structured data) is code that describes your content in a format search engines understand: this is a product with this price, this is an article by this author, this is a dentist at this address with these opening hours. It can make pages eligible for rich results such as star ratings and product details, and it helps search engines and AI assistants understand and cite your business correctly.
Google recommends the JSON-LD format, a block of script you can place anywhere in the page. This generator builds JSON-LD for four of the most useful types: FAQPage, Article (including BlogPosting and NewsArticle), Product with offers and ratings, and LocalBusiness with address, geo coordinates, opening hours and social profiles, including specific types like Dentist, Plumber and LegalService.
Fill in the fields you have and the tool produces correctly formatted, properly escaped code, then lists the recommended fields you left empty, such as an image for articles or a price for products, so you can decide whether to add them.

Schema markup rules worth following
Mark up only what's visible. Structured data must match content people can see on the page. Adding reviews, prices or FAQs that aren't on the page breaks Google's guidelines and can lead to a manual action.
Know what each type can earn. Since 2023 Google shows FAQ rich results mainly for well-known government and health websites, and How-to rich results were removed. The markup still helps machines understand the page, but don't expect FAQ dropdowns for a typical business site. Product markup needs a price (offers), reviews or an aggregate rating to qualify for product rich results.
Keep local details consistent. Your business name, address and phone in LocalBusiness schema should match your Google Business Profile and website footer exactly. Consistency is one of the trust signals local search relies on.
For local businesses, the most valuable combination is usually LocalBusiness schema on the home and contact pages, plus Service or Product details on the pages that describe what you sell. Use the most specific business type available, add your opening hours and link your social profiles with sameAs, so search engines can connect your website with the rest of your online presence.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I put JSON-LD code?
In the page's HTML, usually before the closing head tag. It can also go in the body. Many SEO plugins let you paste custom schema.
Will schema markup improve my rankings?
Not directly, but it can earn rich results that improve click-through, and it helps search engines and AI understand your content.
Why don't my FAQs show in Google?
Google now limits FAQ rich results mainly to authoritative government and health sites.
How do I test my schema?
Use Google's Rich Results Test or the Schema Markup Validator at schema.org.
Can I add more than one schema type to a page?
Yes. You can add several JSON-LD blocks, or combine them in one block using @graph.
